Nicoleta Iftodi is an associate at Vanguard International Dispute Resolution, specialized in investment arbitration and commercial arbitration, acting as counsel and arbitral secretary in disputes across multiple sectors, including energy, oil and gas, construction & engineering and joint ventures. Nicoleta has acted in proceedings conducted under the arbitration rules of the ICSID, UNCITRAL/PCA, ICC, HKIAC, DIAC, SIAC and SAC.
Prior to joining Vanguard International Dispute Resolution, Nicoleta practiced three years as an associate at an international arbitration law firm in Paris.
Nicoleta is admitted to the Paris Bar. She holds a Master’s degree in Arbitration and International Trade Law (MACI) from the University of Paris Saclay,Versailles.

- Member of the counsel team representing Eastern European State in an ICSID arbitration initiated by a Cypriot investor in relation to its investment in the renewable energy sector (solar) (ICSID Case No. ARB/22/13).
- Member of the counsel team representing an Eastern European State in an ICSID arbitration initiated by a Cypriot investor in relation to its investment in the renewable energy sector (wind) (ICSID Case No. ARB/20/15).
- Member of the counsel team representing a UAE energy company in an ad hoc arbitration initiated against an African State under the OIC Investment Agreement in relation to investments in an African national oil refinery (PCA Case No. 2020-09).
- Member of the counsel team representing a leading UAE energy company in two ICC arbitrations against a Sovereign entity concerning a crude oil supply agreement and a shareholders’ agreement related to a refinery.
