A graduate of the TADS LL.M. program, Sciences Po, Vatsala is an Indian-qualified lawyer with 4 years of post-work experience in multiple jurisdictions. Bridging her common law training with civil law practice, Vatsala has worked in law firms across India, Dubai and Paris and has worked as an international arbitration attorney, a tribunal secretary, and in a case management team at the ICC in Paris. As an international arbitration trainee at one of the leading law firms in Paris, Vatsala assisted with international investment and commercial arbitration matters involving European and South American parties before institutions such as the ICC and ICSID.
In the past, Vatsala has represented clients from the construction and energy sectors in high stakes ad-hoc and institutional arbitrations in the MENA region and in Indian courts. After completing her LL.B. from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi, Vatsala pursued a Post-Graduate Diploma in Alternative Dispute Resolution and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Maritime Laws from the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), Hyderabad. She also won an accolade in the Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition in 2018 and frequently adjudges arbitration moots.
